Sometimes in our busy-ness, our worries and concerns, we forget that our body needs tending. We forget that our connection with the world -- the big, wide, wonderful world -- is a physical connection.  Most of the time when we tend to the body, our spirit is refreshed.

Turkey Vultures were kettling yesterday above my cottage. Their graceful, soaring circles transfixed me. This yearly ritual announces: Time to head south.

Basking in football

I've long been a 49ers fan. So when football season comes around, I like to remember back when the team was something really special. Here's one of my favorite football memories. Maybe you remember it to.  


Admiring artists in silk

Although I'm not a fan of spiders, I'm awed by the beautiful webs spun by the European Garden Spider. And beyond that, I find these big, passive orb-weavers intelligent.
